In today's world, the number of digital audio and video formats is quite large and it's a real challenge playing all of them using a single computer application. Most software can play a limited number of formats, so in order to play them all, you would need several programs. For example, Windows Media Player, the default utility for playing media formats, offers a very limited support for file types. That's why it's a good idea to install a specialized application for playing digital formats. One of them is Free Video Player.

This simple Windows program offers support for a wide range of media formats, using a very simple interface. The installation wizard of the program can be completed fast, using only a couple of clicks. After running the program, the user will be presented with an intuitive interface which allows adding any desired media file using the classical menu. After adding the media file into the program, the user can easily play it using familiar playback controls.

By accessing the classical menu, the user can activate the playlist function and can also add several media files and even complete media folders to the playlist, which will allow the program to automatically play each added file one by one. Using the same menu, one can select various types of visualizations for displaying audio files when playing them. Media files can be associated with the program, so when the user double clicks on any of them, the interface of Free Video Player will open automatically.

Pros

It supports a wide range of video and audio formats. Besides that, several media files can be added to the program and played one by one, automatically. Furthermore, media files can be associated with the application.

Cons

The program includes few options, for example, there is no way to fine-tune the sound using an equalizer and there is no possibility to save the playlist as a file. Free Video Player allows you to play almost any audio and video file using a very simple interface.
